Reduce It Down to the Ridiculous.

If the math doesn't work, don't do it. This page uses conservative assumptions, low job values, and a simple funnel model to show whether
$995/month makes sense in a small rural market.

1) What these numbers mean (important)

The response math below is modeled per category (per contractor), because each category is exclusive. If a homeowner needs plumbing this week, there’s only one plumber on the card.

Key point: We are not splitting one response pool across 8 competing contractors in the same trade. We’re placing one lane per trade.

In real life, categories respond differently by season (spring excavation/drainage tends to spike, etc.). This page uses a single conservative model to keep it honest.

2) The funnel (conservative)

Step Assumption Result
Monthly impressions 5,000 × 2 10,000
Response rate 0.25% (low) 25 inquiries
Serious inquiries 50% (low) 12 calls
Close rate 25% (low) 3 jobs

We can make this even more conservative (0.10% response) if you want — the math still usually works with $5K+ jobs.

3) Visuals: How the funnel shrinks (and still works)

Watch what happens when we apply conservative drop-offs at each step.

This is why repetition matters in The County: you don’t need huge response rates. You need steady, controlled visibility so the right homeowner remembers you when the need hits.

4) Job value scenarios (3 jobs)

We’ll use the same conservative funnel and only change job value and gross margin.

Avg Job Jobs Gross Revenue Gross Profit Minus Program ($995)
$3,000 3 $9,000 $2,700 (30%) $1,705
$5,000 3 $15,000 $4,500 (30%) $3,505
$8,000 3 $24,000 $7,200 (30%) $6,205

Buttons only change the profit math display so you can sanity-check your own margins.

5) Spring clean-up & repair: why this is the right season

In spring, homeowners notice problems fast: drainage, driveway washouts, frost heaves, rotted steps, roof damage, trees down, septic issues, “get it ready for summer” projects. Our mail and magnets are timed to that demand.

Simple rule: We don’t blast everything. We push what people are already thinking about right now. That’s why response is higher than “random advertising.”
Also simple: If the phone rings and nobody answers, that’s lost money. We track missed calls and help fix follow-up so you don’t bleed opportunity.

6) What we track (so nobody has to guess)

  • Total inbound calls from our campaigns
  • Missed calls (and when they happened)
  • Call duration (a proxy for lead quality)
  • Repeat callers
  • Day/time patterns
  • Cycle-over-cycle performance

We do not claim to “close jobs for you.” We generate opportunity and make it measurable. If you can handle calls and follow up, this becomes predictable.

Founding pricing:

Startup: $2,500 (setup + first 2 drops)

Ongoing: $995/mo (2 drops + tracking + exclusivity)

7) The County close (no fluff)

You don’t need 20 new jobs. You need 3–5 good ones per month to justify this. If your average job is $5K–$8K and your margin is decent, the program cost is small compared to the opportunity.

Ben Franklin check:
Left side: $995/month
Right side: 3 jobs at $3K–$8K

If you answer your phone and do good work… does that trade make sense?

24-hour decision

Founding 8 is limited: one contractor per category, per ZIP cluster. Once filled, it closes until a vacancy opens.

You have 24 hours after presentation. After that, we move to the next contractor in line.
